I am a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist in California, USA.
I obtained my Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Dongguk Royal University (now known as the Dongguk University Los Angeles) in California, USA. I received numerous scholarship awards during my studies at the Dongguk Royal University. I also received the Best Intern Award during my internship.
I started working in conjunction with Fertility specialists to treat patients suffering from infertility after obtaining my California Acupuncture License. I obtained very effective results in combining my Acupuncture treatments together with the Western doctors.
I’ve also treated patients for other various conditions, which ranged from pain, stress-related disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, and migraines, to an increase in general health, increase in vitality, and youth rejuvenation, etc.
I have a Bachelor of Dental Science Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in the Republic of South Africa, and have both the South African and the British Dental licenses. In addition, I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Hsi Lai University (now known as the University of the West) in California, USA. I graduated as the Valedictorian of my class.
I am familiar with the general Western Medical sciences and disciplines (including Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgery and Anesthetics, etc.), due to my extensive training in those fields during my studies at Dental school, and experiences thereafter as a dentist. This has given me a unique insight, a rare set of experiences & knowledge, and a great advantage in providing the best health care for each patient.
I am originally from Taiwan, where Chinese Medicine has been rooted firmly in our daily lives. Our culture also embrace, welcome and integrate Western Medicine routinely with Chinese Medicine, which is why I studied both the Western and Chinese Medicine. I’ve received extensive training in both disciplines and adopt the methodology of integrating both sciences in the treatment of my patients. I believe that there are certain areas where Oriental Medicine is more effective in treating, and other areas where Western Medicine show better effects. For instance, Chinese/Oriental Medicine (which includes Acupuncture, Oriental Herbs, Nutritional & Lifestyle changes, etc.) is very effective in treating chronic conditions, and stress-related disorders. However, Western Medicine (e.g. antibiotics) show faster results when faced with an acute and serious infection. I often work together with Western doctors to combine the best of both Oriental Medicine and Western Medicine in helping my patients to achieve total health optimization.
I am also interested in other forms of Alternative Medicine, e.g. Energy Healing, Chakra Healing, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Bach’s Flower Essences, Flower Essences, Herbs, Nutritional Supplements, Yoga, Emotional Freedom Technique and Meditation, etc. I strive to help each and every one of my patients in achieving maximal health in terms of their mind, body and spirit.
